Who we are

Vendra Marketplace (Pvt) Ltd operates the Vendra platform and is the data controller for the personal information we collect. We process personal information in line with the Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:26] of Zimbabwe and the right to privacy and confidentiality in the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:14].

What we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
• Order information: what you buy, amounts paid, and delivery details.
• Seller information: business details provided when you open a store.
• Usage and device data needed to run the marketplace and keep it secure.
• Communication you send us, such as support messages.

Why we collect it

We use your personal information only for legitimate purposes connected to the marketplace:

• To create and manage your account and process your orders.
• To arrange delivery and process payments securely.
• To prevent fraud, abuse and illegal activity on the platform.
• To respond to your enquiries, returns and complaints.
• To meet our legal obligations under the laws of Zimbabwe.
• With your consent, to send you marketing about products and sellers you may like.

We never sell your personal information to anyone. Personal data we hold is limited to what is necessary for these purposes and is kept only as long as the law and these purposes require.

How we protect it

Sensitive personal information such as email, phone and delivery addresses is encrypted before it is stored. Access is limited to staff who need it to run the platform, and payment details are handled by licensed payment providers using accepted security standards. If we ever experience a breach that puts your personal information at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by the Data Protection Act.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update inaccurate information.
• Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal requirements.
• Object to the processing of your information for marketing.

You can update or delete your account information at any time from your account settings. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of these rights, email privacy@vendra.co.zw. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority of Zimbabwe.
